The following seven races make up the 2008 MWCMR race series. Only the best 5
races count for the final standings, so if you have a bad day or can't make it to one of
the races, it won't matter. But you should still do all seven races...just because racing
is fun!

Learn to Race: Women’s Beginner Bike Racing Clinic

Want to try bicycle racing? Not sure where to start?
Our 3rd annual Spring clinic gives women an opportunity to learn about
racing in a friendly, supportive environment. In an informative clinic, you’ll
learn from some of the top female riders in Minnesota and get a chance
to meet other women interested in bike racing. The clinic will cover
everything you need to know, from how to train, to what to bring on race
day to what to expect in your first race. You’ll also meet representatives
from clubs around the Twin Cities that are welcoming to women.
When: Tuesday April 8th 7:30-9:30pm
Where: Now Bikes & Fitness, 75 N Snelling Ave in St. Paul

Opus Beginning Racing Clinic
On-the-Bike Racing Clinic
Cosponsored by Loon State Cycling and MWCMR
Take the skills you'll learn at the Women's Beginner Bike Racing Clinic
(April 8th; see below) and apply them in a simulated race! You'll get a
chance to try a mock race in a relaxed, no-pressure environment and get
feedback and tips from experienced racers. Your $10 fee from the
Tuesday clinic will cover your entry into this event.
When: Saturday April 12th 10am-noon
Where: OPUS industrial park in Minnetonka, MN - Meet at Brenwood
Park Office Complex Parking Lot 5720 Smetana Drive, Minnetonka MN
What to bring: Bring your bike with drop handlebars, helmet, water
bottle and wear your biking clothes.
Women's Track Night at the NSC Velodrome
When: Wednesday, May 14th. Track opens at 5 pm. Please arrive early
to get set up with a bike. The intro session will begin promptly at 6:30.
Training will begin at 7:30, and open riding will follow.
Where: NSC Sports Center in Blaine, MN
Who: All interested women--all categories welcome, including juniors. No
previous experience necessary! There's no need to even ride the track:
feel free to come and simply see what it's all about, and meet other
female cyclists.
Cost: FREE, courtesy of track director Bob Williams.
What to bring: You will need to bring your helmet, cycling attire, shoes
and pedals. Gloves are also recommended. Rental bikes are available
for those who do not own a fixed-gear track bike (free of charge this night
only).
